Anima is the fundamental vital force animating all living beings.
.source
Anima is everywhere, acting as a field permeating the entire physical world. Although it is inexhaustible, the baseline is not equal everywhere, and some locations can have a higher resonance than others. Anima resonance is considerably higher in the FLIPSIDE, reaching its its highest recorded maximum around Pandiavolum.
.properties
All living organisms have an incremental draw effect on Anima, as they absorb it passively to remain animate. Devils have the greatest Anima draw, so great that their bodies consequently act as an amplifier, increasing the local resonance around their vicinity. Locations with a very low or no Anima resonance are barren or devoid of life entirely, and any organisms that enters such an area will die from depravation.
This is not a one way process, as all beings leave imprints on the field as a whole, leaving behind biological data that can be later retrieved, including data that can be extrapolated from past and present entries, or even data that exists purely as a theoretical concept with no living counterpart.
