Chimeras (Chimaeria class) are a type of high Daemon displaying chimeric traits and behaviours.
All Chimeras are comprised of two constituents:
- The Body:
- The physical, organic body of the Chimera. Their anatomy displays characteristics belonging to disparate classes, such as mammals, reptiles, arthropods, etc., without any conflict between traits. All Chimeras have a draconic semblance, are endothermic, and are tetradactyl.
- Upon death of the soul, the body will enter a vegetative state, dying not long after due to organ failure.
- The Soul:
- A physical construct composed entirely of Phlogiston, grafted on by ████ and ████, housed within a complex of vessels and nodes spanning the entire body, similar in structure to a lymphatic system.
- During gestation, the soul forms first, around which the body follows and forms around. The body will consistently match the shape of the soul.
- The Phlogiston comprising the soul uses Anima as a fuel source, with the burning reaction animating the Chimera. This is also what allows Chimeras to reach extreme sized.
- Upon death of the body, the soul will immediately burn out.
- The Phlogiston comprising the soul can be released from the body in the form of Pyrokinesis.
- Due to soul similarity, the Phlogiston of one species and all resulting byproducts are inert to other members of the same species.
Chimeras, while still obeying the principles of Darwinian evolution, follow at least partially the rules of Lamarckian evolution, although these changes are not always permanent and will revert in time.
